The protagonist is controlled by the players and Kratos, who is considered as an earlier God of wars after he was betrayed by Zeus, his father, and the King of Olympian Gods.
It is somewhat constructed on the theme of Greek Mythology and is set in the ancient period of Greece. It is also a sequel to the God of War-2 released in the year 2007. This game is the fifth inclusion in the series of God of War, which ranks seventh in chronological order and last one in the Greek era franchise.
